SMAK, Stedelijke Museum Actuele Kunst, Gent (BE)

In conjunction with the commemorative exhibition Chambre d’Amis, doctoral student Sofie Frederix has curated an archival presentation in one of the rooms of the SMAK museum, covering the three other exhibitions that also took place during the so-called Ghent Art Summer of 1986. Those exhibitions were Initiatief 86, Initiatief d'Amis, and Antichambre. This Friday, May 29 at 9 p.m., the concert by The Mudgang will take place at the SMAK in Ghent. (Free admission; the opening of the exhibition itself is at 7 p.m.). This is in commemoration of the performance by The Mudgang, who were invited by Gery De Smet at the time to play in his installation (see photo) at the Antichambre exhibition.
